And here's something related...
The Short film Don't Let It All Unravel
I'm sure some of you would recognize the stitches and patterns...
basically knitting. sometimes beading. occasionally tatting. recently bear-making. all the time gaming.

Almost
I think this will be a yarn post.
I've been so unable to knit and post and blog and take pictures for the whole week since last friday evening due to a dreaded flu bug.
anyways I'm back and I thought... what makes me feel better than looking at yarn.

There's Louet's Gems in French Blue

Dream In Color's Smooshy Sock yarn!! First in Beach Fog

And also in Gothic Rose

the color is closer to this one actually
And last but definitely not the least (because i want MORE!!!)
Malabrigo Lace in Indigo

Hmm I think i want some Verde Adriana (was my second choice) and Purple Mystery... I just added VAA to the Malabrigo Lace wants too.

Breeze for Bijoux
Thanks everyone for the kindest comments here on this blog, on the main one, and on my flickr.
I've finished my Breeze today, the first matching pair of socks for Summer of Socks!
so here, the Summer Breeze

Pattern: Breeze from Knitty Summer 07
Yarn: KnitPicks Palette in Hyacinth
Needles: On 2.5mm Addi Circs
I know, not very pretty pictures today.
Anyways, seeing how Juwellen seems to miss her sister even though they weren't in the same cage, I guess it's all appropriate for me to dedicate these socks to Bijoux. She can't wear them. But i'm sure she'd have a ball of a time rolling around in them...
I got Bijoux's sisters Creamer (the sapphire) and Juwellen (the white) to take pictures with the Breeze for Bijoux.

That said... what should I cast one now for SoS? Sweetpea? Coupling? Monkey? New Year's Day? Flickering Flames?
I'm planning to use KP Memories, so leave me a comment! :)

2 Socks
One of each
hehe
i finished one Seduction! See!

I actually didn't enjoy this pattern very much. I mean the sock is nice and all but the pattern was written weird. Then again I haven't made much socks so I really shouldn't be complaining. Still, I find the instructions a bit weird. Nvm... I'll make the other sock soon. I promise.
This one is lonely...

I think I'll have to cast on both Seduction sock 2 and Breeze sock 2.
They are both lonely...

Meanwhile, on the FurFront,
Mollie says: Why can't I have a sock too, Mummy?

Stand up for Summer of Socks!
My socks can stand on their own!
Hahaha... On the left is Breeze from Knitty, Summer 2007 and on the right is Seduction from IK, Spring 2007.
Both are worked with KnitPicks Palette (Breeze in Hyacinth and Seduction in Sunlight) because I found these yarn in the stash just before the start of SOS.
This is what it usually looks like when I'm working with yarn. I really find reading from the computer screen much easier than from a printed pattern. (Yesterday, because I was feeling a little sleepy from the medication, I was too lazy to be working online so i took the printed copy of breeze and had it stand at the screen. - sigh~~ such a geek!)
I'm going to try and finish the first Breeze today... :) wish me luck!

I've been quiet
and even though i'm supposed to say something about socks for the Summer of Socks, I've been so quiet...
because i've been tried and puzzled by this pain on theleft right side of my gum/cheek. I've casted on Breeze and it went well until a number of terrible mistakes cos of this yet-to-be-named pain. So I had to start all over again.
but anyways, I've gone to the dentist today (because I thought it was another wisdom tooth) and as assured that I have no wisdom teeth on the top palate. So. It should be a mild sinus infection. (mild by now)
Why didn't I think of that?
But anyways, my No Sheep Swap Pal sent me these!

I also got my koigu yarn over the weekend :)

More on Socks next time I promise! :)

Clapotis~
It's done it's done~~~
I was sewing in the ends in the car yesterday and by the time we reached the restaurant, the Clapotis is finally (and officialy) done.

It was earlier modelled by Mollie who somehow loves knitting. (too bad she doesn't have a thumb)

The Clapotis' first night out was at the Scarlet's Desire, and I was sipping a Martini with it. So. I think it's going to go out with me quite often.

The size? there you go...

Clapotis was casted on in May and completed in June 2007.
5 balls of Rowan Tapestry in Whirlpool used on 4.5mm Clovers.
Indulge.

To celebrate...
the last stitch knitted (actually purled) on the Clapotis!!!!
More pictures to follow because the ends are not woven in yet, and there are still drop stitches to free.
Meanwhile, I need to prep for a tutorial class tomorrow (the first real class of this career!)
Today is also June 19, so 2 years ago, this was what happened...

Frogged~~~
it went ribbit ribbit in my hands...
So in my hands was my neverending project... This is one of my firsts, in fact the very reason why I learnt knitting (besides cross-stitching not being challenging enough) But it is just cursed not to move along too quickly. At 138 rows, it's still at least 15 cm away from the end (and I still have the front to go!)

I was already thinking of knitting it in the round after my socks and razor tank. but i never thought it was a good enough reason.
Then, with the very probable tension change (it's my earlier projects right? so it was so tight the stitches could hardly move on the needle) and a new way to do the edging without ribbing or risking the curls, I decided.
Frog it, it is.
Here it stands

and there.
Pull out the needle and tug the string...

It's sitting very still in my bag. The ripping sort of felt like freedom, as it went rrrrrrrrrrrrr....
And then here it is sitting on my lap, being wound.

The two balls ended up as two cakes. I casted on again for the new edging and IN THE ROUND this time. Am now up to the seventh row without actually sitting down doing it (i.e. i was in the car, on the internet, doing something etc)
AS was like this :(
but after I explained to him why I had to do it
he was like :)
Meanwhile, I've also casted on for Seduction Socks with some KP yarn I've found. Am using the Boye needles from SP10 and a small preview here. I love the color of the needles!

WWWKIP day~!
Yesterday was WWWKIP day, and our plan was to take the MRT (the local subway/metro) and knit in public. Did we invite weird stares? I'm not so sure, cos I wasn't really paying attention. But I should think we did :P After all, seeing one person knit on the train is already odd. seeing more than one and all together, is indeed something new!
So here are all the knitters (sans moi because I didn't take a picture of myself)

Karyn, Cindy, MLC and Lois
And then here we are at the end-point, Dhoby Ghaut.

We then had lunch and proceeded for more knitting at a cafe, as we always use to. I certainly thought this was a great exercise and I hope if we have another one next year, there would be more of us. ;) Thanks to Lois too, that we're listed on the WWWKIP site this time. yeay!
I've got loads of new yarns as well... My Bendigo and Anne arrived!

On another note... something's up for frogging...
yes the neverending sweater...
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR ...
To be continued...

It's good to be spoiled
SP10's package arrived yesterday~ (actually the day before but it was a bulky item, so I had to go down and get it.)
I had so much to do running errands, seeing friends off (some are leaving) and catching up with what I'm really supposed to be doing that I didn't have time to bask in all the pressies until today.
And truly they were wonderful. See? :D

There was yarn from Cherry Tree Hill, Lily's Sugar 'n Cream, DPNs from Susan Bates and Boye, a Hairband, some candy, a card making kit and SEEDS!!! Daisy and tomato seeds! So fun!! :D
Here's a look again at my CTH

and my Sugar 'n Cream.

Thanks Camille!!!!! You've been a great SP!

WHOOOOOOOO~~~~~~~~~
yes yes I completed my Thujas lalala
and i'm now typing very fast and hiding the screen from AS because he suddenly came back in the middle of the night last night and is wondering why I'm so busy so early in the morning
So here they are when I finished them last night...

at 2121hrs too!

I used the kitchener stitch as described on the the techknitting blog. It was really easy!

Here they are modelled (it looks like it doesn't fit because... it's not for me!)

Thuja from Knitty
Designed by: Bobby Ziegler
Yarn: 2 skeins Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk DK
And the side view (ack fat fat fat! bad angle~~~~)

On another note my kimono's up to the second repeat~!!
